To build powerfull blog powered by wordpress, we need to include several plugins to make it complete, here is i suggest you those plugins:

If you are using wordpress 2.7* or later you could add it from admin dashboard and directly configure/setting it, otherwise you should upload it manually to your server..

1. HeadSpace2

Meta-data manager on steroids, allowing complete control over all SEO needs such as keywords/tags, titles, description, stylesheets, and many many other goodies.. more on plugin site

2. Sociable

Automatically add bookmark links on your posts, pages and RSS feed to your favorite social bookmarking sites.. more on plugin site

3. WP-Contact Form

WP Contact Form is a drop in form for users to contact you. It can be implemented on a page or a post.. more on plugin site

4. Disqus Comment System

The Disqus comment system replaces your WordPress comment system with your comments hosted and powered by Disqus. Head over to the Comments admin page to set up your DISQUS Comment System.. more on plugin site

5. Google Analytics

6. Google XML Sitemaps

This may usefull, SI CAPTCHA Anti Spam to adding Captcha in your any comments or form page, because i use Disqus, so i don’t activate it..
